AI Prompt Optimizer

Find out why a prompt gives generic answers. The optimizer checks ten things that make prompts work – a role, a clear task verb, context, an audience, an output format, a measurable length, constraints, an example, precise wording and calm emphasis – scores the prompt out of 100 and explains each gap. It then rearranges your text into sections with [placeholders] where information is missing, ready to fill in.

    AI Prompt Optimizer FAQ

Is the score a quality guarantee?

No. It checks the ingredients of a good prompt; the content still matters.

    Why penalise ALL CAPS?

Modern models follow calm, clear rules as well as shouted ones; capitals and “!!!” add noise.

    Does it rewrite with AI?

No. It restructures your own sentences and marks what to add.

    Which models is it for?

The checks apply to any chat model.

    From vague to specific

“Write something good about our app” leaves every decision to the model. Naming the audience, format and length, and giving facts, turns it into an answer you can use.

Fixing the failed checks in order of weight – task, context, format first – usually gives the biggest improvement.

This tool does not call an AI model. It turns your answers into a well-structured prompt in your browser, so it costs nothing, works offline once loaded and never sends your text anywhere. Paste the result into ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Copilot or any other assistant, or into the system message of an API call.

Good prompts are specific about the task, the context the model cannot know, the audience and the shape of the answer. The fields on this page cover exactly those parts; leave optional fields empty when they do not apply, and the prompt stays short.

Review the answer you get: language models can be confidently wrong, especially about facts, numbers, names and recent events. Ask for sources or mark claims to check, and keep personal or confidential data out of prompts unless your organisation allows it.

Keep the prompts that work. A small library of tested prompts – with a note on which model and settings they were used with – saves time and makes results more consistent across a team. The other prompt tools on this site help you format, template, fill and measure them.
