Privacy Policy Generator
Answer a few questions about your website or app and get a structured privacy policy template. Tick what you collect – enquiries, accounts, orders, newsletter, comments, analytics, advertising, cookies, server logs or location – list the service providers you use, and choose whether to include sections for the GDPR and UK GDPR, California residents (CCPA/CPRA), international transfers and children. Privacy Policy Generator FAQ
Is this legal advice?
No. It is a template, may need legal review, and should be checked by a qualified lawyer for your country and business before you publish it.
Do I need a privacy policy?
Almost every website that collects any personal data – even an IP address in server logs or an email from a contact form – needs one under laws such as the GDPR, and app stores and payment providers require one.
Does it cover the GDPR?
It includes the information the GDPR asks for (controller, purposes, legal bases, recipients, transfers, retention, rights and complaints), but whether your processing is lawful depends on what you do.
Can I edit the text?
Yes – the output is plain HTML, Markdown or text. Adjust it to your situation.
What a privacy policy must contain
Data protection laws require you to tell people, in clear language, who is responsible for their data, what you collect, why, on which legal basis, who you share it with, how long you keep it and what rights they have. The generator builds exactly these sections from your answers and warns when something looks inconsistent – for example advertising without cookies, or analytics without a named provider.
Important: the result is a template, may need legal review, and is not legal advice. The generator only knows what you tell it, cannot check what your website really does, and laws differ between countries and change over time. Have the text reviewed by a qualified lawyer before you publish it, especially if you handle sensitive data, sell to consumers abroad or work in a regulated field.
